182 days/7 hours per day Position Overview The Behavior Strategist/Interventionist/IEP Facilitator supports schools in improving student behavioral, social-emotional, and academic outcomes through behavior intervention planning, special education compliance, and early intervening services. This position provides coaching and training to school personnel, assists with IEP development and monitoring, facilitates IEP meetings, supports disciplinary compliance for students with disabilities, and collaborates with district and school staff to implement effective intervention strategies. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers in designing and implementing effective behavior management programs for individual students and classrooms. Support teachers with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Monitor IEPs for compliance and accuracy and provide corrective guidance when deficiencies are identified. Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings, including coordination with related service providers and school personnel. Assist with student transitions into the district and ensure appropriate special education services are implemented. Review and support behavior intervention plans and assist schools with modifying interventions as needed. Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations regarding the discipline of students with disabilities. Provide support and training related to behavior management, IEP development, intervention strategies, and special education compliance. Coordinate and support Early Intervening Services (EIS) and collaborate with instructional intervention personnel. Collect, analyze, and report academic and behavioral intervention data to support decision-making and program effectiveness. Collaborate with district leaders, school administrators, teachers, parents, and service providers to improve student outcomes. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to interventions, IEPs, compliance monitoring, and state reporting requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Valid Louisiana teaching certificate required; Special Education certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching or student support experience preferred. Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA, Section 504, IEP development, and discipline procedures for students with disabilities. Experience facilitating IEP meetings, developing behavior intervention plans, and supporting intervention programs preferred. Knowledge of RTI, PBIS, Early Intervening Services, and evidence-based behavioral and instructional interventions. Strong data analysis, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to provide professional development, coaching, and support to school personnel. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, educators, and community agencies. Reporting Structure The Behavior Strategist/Interventionist/IEP Facilitator reports to the Special Services Supervisor and/or designated district administrator and is responsible for supporting special education compliance, behavioral interventions, and student support initiatives throughout the district.
