Job Description

The College Academic Advisor for First Year Advising provides meaningful, holistic student support, and academic guidance to Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC) first-time freshman and contributes directly to the successful transition of all new NTC students. This position executes innovative engagement opportunities for first year students through programming, drop-in advising, and campus partnership events, some of which will occur on nights and weekends. The College Academic Advisor collaborates with students, colleagues, and campus partners to address challenges, offer solutions, and ensure students successfully progress through their chosen academic programs and thrive during their first year within Newcomb-Tulane College. Additionally, this position completes success coaching training within the first 18 months of employment.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. 1 year of experience in academic advising, counseling, teaching, or dynamic student support.
Preferred Qualification:
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related discipline. Familiarity with higher education policies, procedures, and academic systems.
