Immediately Job Description Sturgis Charter Public School, a rigorous college preparatory high school in Hyannis, Massachusetts seeks a full-time School Counselor for the 2026-27 school year. We are seeking candidates who will bring to Sturgis a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion through lived experience, teaching, scholarship and/or community service. Job Description Provide academic, college/career, and social/emotional counseling to a caseload of students. Collaborate with other district school counselors for the purpose of developing, reviewing, assessing and maintaining our comprehensive school counseling program. Assist students/parents in understanding school policies and procedures. Provide information/resources and referrals and consultation to teachers, families and community agencies and organizations. Cultivate a college-going school culture by developing and providing activities and programs for college exploration and preparation for students and their families. Deliver curriculum to support social/emotional learning to include the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program and the State mandated drug and alcohol education/screening program (SBIRT) for 9th graders Provide brief counseling to address social and emotional concerns and help students learn coping skills for personal, academic, and family concerns. Collaborate and regularly communicate with other staff (assistant principal, principal, special education teachers and administrators, school nurse, adjustment counselors) regarding both social/emotional and academic concerns for students. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with students and families using culturally sustaining best practices. Requirements A bachelor's degree is required.
