Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Chickering School is seeking a Special Education Educator for the 2026-2027 School Year A successful candidate will have a Master's degree and experience providing individualized instruction across academic, social, and behavioral domains. Competency and experience in administering standardized and criterion-referenced assessments, developing IEPs, and monitoring student progress are essential. Effective strategies for optimal student engagement and facilitating accommodations and modifications to support student access within the general education classroom are imperative.
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts standardized and informal assessments
  • Effective use of strategies and knowledge of pedagogy to teach students with disabilities
  • Communication skills both with staff and parents
  • Serves as a case manager for students with disabilities
  • Cultural proficiency and responsiveness
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Special Education
  • Licensure in Moderate Disabilities; Wilson Reading Certification preferred but not required
  • Experience and/or training in administering, interpreting, and reporting on diagnostic assessments
  • Experience writing IEP goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of inclusive education, both practically and philosophically
  • Strength in team building and management Strength in parent outreach and support
