The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Malden's student body comprises approximately 6,100 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. The district has an early learning center, five K-8 schools, and one high school. Malden High School, established in 1857, is a vibrant and inclusive learning community. The school currently serves just over 1,800 students in grades 9-12 and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Ranked by Niche as the most diverse high school in Massachusetts, MHS proudly reflects the strengths of its multicultural population; this year students represent more than 55 countries and speak over 40 languages. Guided by the district's core values of Include and Collaborate, Embrace Growth, and Do Right by All Kids, the school strives to provide an environment where every student can thrive both academically and personally, and prepare themselves for the broadest possible range of post-secondary aspirations. DESE licensed in Professional Support Personnel, School Guidance Counselor, 5-12 Reports to: Building PrincipalSalary:
$135/Day- Retired Educator w/ DESE Certification $125/Day
- DESE Certification $100/Day
- No Certification If a substitute holds a Bachelors degree or a Counseling License, and they serve in the same assignment for a 30 consecutive work day probationary period, they are eligible to have their pay rate increased to a per diem rate of $210/day for the remainder of their current assignment; pay returns to the daily rate at the conclusion of their assignment; however, if they move to another long-term assignment within a month, they do not have to restart the probationary period again and may continue receiving the per diem rate.
