Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Adjustment Counselor Fausey Elementary School Fausey Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Adjustment Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students within a comprehensive school-based support model.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students
  • Design and implement tiered supports and interventions
  • Provide case management services for an assigned caseload
  • Collaborate and consult with school personnel regarding social-emotional learning and student mental health needs
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans
  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with families as part of service planning and delivery
  • Collaborate with teachers and related service providers regarding interventions, strategies, and progress monitoring
  • Coordinate with outside providers and community agencies to support comprehensive student services
  • Develop student goals and benchmarks; collect and analyze data; prepare progress reports
  • Complete assessments, goal writing, and progress reports as required
  • Participate in PBIS, Crisis Response, and Equity teams
  • Conduct self-harm and threat assessment screenings as indicated
  • Maintain QBS Safety Care certification
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Current DESE licensure as a School Adjustment Counselor/Social Worker or Licensed School Adjustment Counselor
  • Knowledge of community-based resources and wraparound services
  • Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional/behavioral interventions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and family systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to effectively support students, families, caregivers, and staff
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
