Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a school counselor in the Ann Arbor area. This full-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about guiding adolescents during their educational journey and personal development. The assignment begins on August 24, 2026, and extends through June 4, 2027, working 37.5 hours per week. In this role, you'll work closely with high school students, offering academic guidance, social-emotional support, and helping them navigate post-secondary options. Your expertise will make a meaningful difference as students face various academic and personal challenges.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with
SCHOOL COUNSELOR
(NT) K-12 endorsement Bachelor's degree with proper certification Relevant teaching experience is advantageous and will be given extra consideration Solid understanding of current concepts in school counseling and content area
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive counseling services to students in a high school setting, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs Support students in developing plans for graduation and future academic or career goals Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive environments Facilitate group or one-on-one counseling sessions as needed Maintain student records in compliance with all district and state regulations Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities This contract position offers the chance to make a direct and lasting impact on students' lives within a supportive school environment.
