Job Summary SCMV Options is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our team in at
SCMV & SCMV
Options @ Jackson High School (9-12). The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The School Counselor will work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty to create a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting the overall well-being of each student. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges. Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students in need of support and develop intervention strategies. Conduct assessments to evaluate students' needs and progress, providing appropriate recommendations for support. Facilitate workshops and programs on topics such as conflict resolution, stress management, and career exploration. Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations. Act as a liaison between students, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students. Participate in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student well-being and academic success. Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and mental health support. Requirements Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor. Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and educational resources. Proficient in using technology and software for record-keeping and communication. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that supports all students. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
