Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor (NT) Endorsement Counselor License may be considered Knowledge of academic advising, career planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development Ability to effectively support middle and high school students in academic, behavioral, and personal/social growth Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community agencies Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive school counseling services to middle and high school students Assist students with academic planning, course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning Provide individual and small-group counseling to address academic, career, social, and emotional needs Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and outside agencies to support student success Monitor student progress and assist in developing intervention strategies when needed Maintain confidential student records in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations Participate in school improvement initiatives, professional development, and student support teams Perform additional duties as assigned by the Secondary Lead Principal or administration Equal Opportunity EmployerPinconning Area Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, height, weight, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristic in its programs or activities, including employment opportunities.
