Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make a significant impact in the lives of high school students by supporting their academic and personal growth in an engaging educational environment. This position offers the opportunity to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) on a contract basis for the duration of the school year, from August 24, 2026 through June 4, 2027. You will collaborate with dedicated staff to provide counseling services and help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a
SCHOOL COUNSELOR
(NT) K-12 endorsement Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, accompanied by required certification Previous teaching experience or direct school-based counseling experience strongly preferred Comprehensive understanding of counseling concepts, student support, and current educational practices Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver academic, social, emotional, and career counseling to high school students Develop individualized plans and interventions to foster student well-being and achievement Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide guidance programs Maintain accurate documentation and follow confidentiality protocols Promote a positive, supportive school climate for all learners This contract role runs throughout the 2026-2027 academic year and offers you the chance to make a lasting difference in a vibrant school community.
