Division of Instruction Primary Purpose:
The district Coordinator of PK-12 Student Services shall, under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of PK-5 Programs and Assistant Superintendent of 6-12 Programs, provide leadership, coordination, and support for districtwide systems that promote positive student behavior, equitable access, social-emotional well-being, and safe, supportive learning environments for all students. The Coordinator of PK-12 Student Services provides oversight and alignment of student support systems, including restorative practices, discipline systems, PBIS/MTSS implementation, social-emotional learning (SEL), mental health supports, and compliance related to student services programming. The position also provides leadership and support to PK-5 behavior/SEL specialists and collaborates closely with PK-12 assistant principals and school counselors to ensure consistent, effective implementation of student support systems across campuses. ?
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree with preference in teaching, social work, psychology, or related area Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Educational Leadership, or similar area Valid teaching certificate Preferred school counselor certificate or school administrator certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge and skills in discipline, crisis management, student behavior systems, student services, counseling, and interventions Ability to establish positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with administrators, teachers, students, parents and the community stakeholders Ability to provide oversight and professional development
Experience:
Minimum of three successful years teaching in a classroom with experience with implementing behavior management strategies, PBIS, MTSS, restorative practices, and SEL.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Frameworks Mental Health and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Supports Compliance and Program Implementation 2. Support school counselors, assistant principals, behavior paraprofessionals, and campus teams in implementing proactive student support systems. 3.
Build staff capacity in:
Classroom management practices Student behavior intervention strategies De-escalation and restorative approaches Positive school culture and climate systems 4. Provide coaching, training, and professional development to campus staff and leaders. 5. Assist campuses in analyzing discipline and behavior data to identify trends, needs, and targeted interventions. 6. Observe and assist teachers with classroom and behavior management. 7. Provide crisis prevention and intervention and other management training to Lufkin ISD staff members. 8. Serve as a facilitator in the development of behavior intervention plans, goals, assessment timelines, and behavior contracts and monitor such plans. 9. Provide teacher consultation regarding student disruptive behavior problems. 10. Participates in the RTI process and meetings to address behavioral issues with identified students. 11. Assist with behavior assessments for individual students. 12. Provide parent training. 13. May supervise assigned staff. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. Communication and Community Relations Establishes and maintains a professional relationship and open communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Articulates the district's mission, instructional philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicits its support in realizing the district's mission. Demonstrates awareness of district-community needs and initiates activities to meet those needs. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. ? Customer Care Skills ? Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals. Always use proper phone etiquette, speaking slowly and clearly.? Take reliable messages and routes to the appropriate staff. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude?of "going the extra mile" for others, Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
