Job Description
The School District of Clayton is seeking Learning Support Interventionists for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to students to empower students to be confident, independent learners by cultivating student skills, strategies, and behaviors in a supportive, safe environment that exists for all. The candidate will provide a variety of services and resources to support students, their families, and teachers. In addition, this candidate will complement the work of the classroom by creating a partnership between classroom teachers and the Learning Support Interventionist.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Learning Center Support Interventionist provides individualized support to students in order to empower them to be independent, confident learners through cultivating skills, strategies, and behaviors in a supportive, safe environment. Provides a variety of services and resources to support students, their families, and teachers to create a cohesive partnership with classroom teachers for the success of the student.
REPORTS TO
Director of Learning Support
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Acts as a case manager for students who are struggling academically, assessing student progress and adjusting support as needed while developing and implementing student management systems.
Facilitates development of individual student plans.
Acts as executive functioning coach for students, teaching students how to organize, plan, prioritize, manage time, maintain focus, self-assess, and study efficiently while creating and maintaining structures and systems for student support.
Collaborates with other building professionals in order to support student success.
Creates and maintains structures and systems to monitor student support.
Acts as department liaison for a core department and attends department meetings and PLC's as needed.
Supports students in the Greyhound Alternative Program as well as students enrolled in guided study hall.
Collects data for counselors and administrators in order to monitor student progress and identify those who may be at risk. Schedules students with low grades for one-on-one intervention meetings.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business, Science, English, History, or Communications is required.
At least 2 years of experience is required.
Substitute teaching certificate is required.

Requires ability to operate standard office and classroom equipment.

Required to occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds around the workspace.
Requires travel to multiple work sites within the District using reliable, personal transportation.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar assignment is required. Education:
Must be eligible for and obtain a substitute certificate. Minimum of 60 college course hours required to obtain a Missouri substitute certificate. Teaching certification is preferred.

188-day calendar; 7.5 hrs/day
