Classification:
Exempt The school guidance program assists students in becoming responsible adults. Continuous attention is given to assisting students to develop competence in decision making, working with others, and taking responsibility for their own behavior in accordance with district policies and procedures. The School Counselor will possess good people skills, flexibility, the ability to work under pressure and stay on task, responsible, reliable, a self-starter, and have the ability to adjust to change. Qualifications Master's degree Appropriate grade level guidance certification Attendance Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Physical Demands An individual who holds this position must have the ability to: Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously Move around the classroom Read handwritten or printed material
