To Be Determined Job Description Pine Lake Preparatory, a North Carolina A rated public charter school, is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated full-time Lower School Counselor. Utilizing leadership, advocacy and collaboration, the Lower School Counselor will promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work with school administrators to develop and manage a comprehensive school counseling program, including a written plan for effective delivery based on the NC Comprehensive School Counseling Standard Course of Study and individual school data. Communicate the goals of the counseling program to all stakeholders: Board of Directors, Administrators, Teachers, Parents, Students and community/business leaders. Maintain current and appropriate resources for all stakeholders. Use majority of time providing direct services through Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning and Preventive and Responsive Services. Use data to develop comprehensive programs that meet student needs. Administer all aspects of the K-12 financial assistance program. Work with students and staff in Safety Patrol, Student Council, monthly student recognition, community contacts, etc. Conduct yearly program audit to review program implementation and effectiveness. Collect and analyze data to guide program direction and emphasis. Measure results of program activities and share results as appropriate with relevant stakeholders. Monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitate appropriate interventions. Other duties as assigned Desirable applicants will hold a Master's degree in School Counseling or related field and must possess and maintain proper certification as established by NC state law and the Department of Public Instruction.
