Assists in the developmental needs of all students through a comprehensive school counseling program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. To assist students in facilitating learning success in school as well as for their future through educational, career, personal and social goals. To provide direct and indirect services by implementing the Raymond School District Comprehensive School Counseling Program.QUALIFICATIONS
(SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAININGREQUIRED
): Teacher will meet all qualifications and behavior standards as set by the State of New Hampshire authority. In accordance with certification requirements and the performance expectations of the Raymond Public Schools, all classroom teachers shall meet the following employment criteria. The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, master's degree in school counseling preferred A valid New Hampshire Teacher's Certificate as a School Counselor or School Counseling Director or a Statement of Eligibility (SOE) A completed credential file that meets Raymond Public School standards. Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience, preferred. Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education. Interview/file data will include evidence of sensitivity and respect for others and verification of the demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for youth. Collaborate with other district school counselors for the purpose of developing, reviewing, assessing and maintaining the developmental Comprehensive School Counseling Program. Provide individual and small group counseling for the purpose of meeting and supporting individual student needs, including IEP counseling as needed. Manages student behavioral health crises with the crisis response team. Coordinate and deliver a developmental, preventative, and responsive core curriculum to support academic, social/emotional and career development for all students. Orient new students to school procedures. Develop and provide activities and programs for college and career awareness, exploration and preparation for students and their families. Identify and develop activities and programs for the purpose of meeting the needs of students in each school. Collect, interpret and analyze student related data and use data for program development, individual student planning and career development. Implement developmentally appropriate prevention programs and activities to meet students' needs and to support school and district goals. Provide information/resources and referrals and consultation to teachers, families and community agencies and organizations. Collaborate with other educators, administrators, family members and community agencies to assist students with educational planning to ensure students' academic success. Develop, coordinate and implement programs and activities to enhance students' successful transition from school to school and/or other related programs (elementary to middle school, middle school to high school and high school to career, training, or educational programs). Provide information, feedback and recommendations to administration, staff, parents, and/or students for classroom placement, course selection and/or the meeting of graduation requirements. High School School Counseling includes aiding in student course and subject selection, liaises with Seacoast School of Technology, or other Alternative Learning Pathways as appropriate, and coordinates extended learning opportunities and internship opportunities for students. May participate in, support, or coordinate school testing and/or college admissions testing. Participate in school and district committees and initiatives to provide system support. May serve in one or more of the following roles: Scholarship Coordinator; Special Education IEP Team Member; Crisis Response Team Member; MTSS Tier 1 and/or Student Intervention team member; Emergency Management team member; or, other roles/team member as assigned Coordinates support for students with 504 plans and facilitates 504 meetings.
