Job Description

Position:
School Counselor -
Leave Replacement Position Details:
Provide comprehensive counseling and guidance services to help students navigate academic, social, and personal development. This role supports district and school goals through collaboration, advocacy, and individualized support for students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver academic, career, and personal-social counseling Assist students and families with orientation, scheduling, and post-secondary planning Interpret standardized test results and support informed decision-making Encourage positive behavior, attendance, and teacher-student relationships Collaborate with staff, families, and community organizations on student needs Contribute to 504 planning, IEP meetings, and student support teams Maintain confidentiality and promote access to guidance services Use systems like Scoir and student information platforms to support scheduling and college applications Write reference letters and communicate regularly about student progress Participate in school initiatives and maintain professional growth

K-12
Director of School Counseling Supervises:
Students in the context of the guidance and counseling relationship
Start and End Date:
0826/26-02/19/27 plus 3 days New Teacher Orientation in August.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, temporary position and medical benefits. Salary is $70,062.
Selection Process:
Interview and demonstration lesson.

Other Requirements:
Master's degree in Counseling, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling. Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
