This contracted College and Career Counselor opportunity is situated in the Albuquerque area, where you'll work full-time, Monday through Thursday, leading a single-school caseload in a positive and supportive educational environment. Your role centers on providing expert guidance, resources, and encouragement to students as they plan for graduation and post-secondary pathways. The school community values dedicated professionals eager to foster student self-confidence and success as they transition to college, vocational programs, or the workforce.
Key Qualifications:
NM school counselor license preferred (open to equivalent licensure types as outlined) Experience with high school populations strongly preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills to partner with students, staff, and families Ability to help students with academic planning, personal growth, and career readiness Capacity to assess individual student needs and deliver appropriate interventions
What You'll Do:
Advise and coach students on college, career, and scholarship opportunities Develop personalized academic and post-secondary plans for each student Conduct group and individual guidance sessions Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth Connect students with resources on applications, testing, and career exploration Track and report on student progress and outcomes This is a fantastic contract position offering full-time hours with Fridays off, allowing for a robust work-life balance as you dedicate yourself to helping students thrive.
