26-27 English Learner (EL) Interventionist Beacon Academy of Nevada - 3.1 Las Vegas, NV Job Details $58,420 - $121,469 a year 9 hours ago Qualifications School experience Computer literacy Full Job Description General Purpose of the Position The English Learner (EL) Interventionist provides targeted academic support, progress monitoring, and program coordination for English Learner students within Beacon Academy of Nevada's blended learning model. This role works directly with students to improve language acquisition, academic achievement, and course completion, while supporting teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies for EL students. The EL Interventionist collaborates with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure that EL students receive appropriate interventions aligned with MTSS frameworks. The position also supports the effective use of curriculum and instructional resources by modeling scaffolding strategies and providing guidance to teachers on meeting the needs of diverse learners. The EL Interventionist supports EL program implementation and student success, but does not hold compliance authority for special education or Section 504 programs, and does not serve as the teacher of record. This position reports to Site Principal (in collaboration with Superintendent, Curriculum Coordinator, and Student Services)

The compensation for this position is aligned with the BANV Governing Board-approved Salary Schedule, based on years of experience and the degree held. Compensation for all positions is determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Beacon Academy. Experience and specialized skills are considered when determining salary.Salary Scale:

Exempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct Student Support & Intervention Provide targeted small group and one-on-one instructional support to English Learner students. Deliver interventions focused on language development, reading, writing, and academic vocabulary. Support students in accessing and completing coursework within Canvas (LMS). Assist students in developing skills in comprehension, communication, and academic language. Utilize platforms such as Canvas, Infinite Campus, and assessment systems (e.g., WIDA) to monitor and support student progress. Support EL students in setting goals and monitoring their academic progress. Progress Monitoring & Data Tracking Monitor EL student progress using multiple data sources, including classroom performance, assessments, and language proficiency measures (e.g., WIDA). Track student growth and identify students in need of additional interventions. Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress monitoring, and student outcomes. Collaborate with teachers and administration to adjust supports based on student data. Instructional Support & Teacher Collaboration Work directly with teachers to support effective implementation of curriculum for EL students. Model and provide guidance on scaffolding strategies, differentiation, and language supports. Support teachers in adapting instructional materials to meet the needs of English Learners. Assist in identifying appropriate interventions and supports for EL students within the classroom. Provide non-evaluative coaching and support to improve instructional practices for EL students. Plan, prepare, facilitate, and participate in teacher training and professional development activities. Support staff in maintaining current certification requirements. EL Program Coordination Support coordination of EL program services and ensure students receive appropriate language support. Coordinate EL identification processes, including screening, placement, service delivery, progress monitoring, and family notification (as applicable and in coordination with administration). Support the administration of EL assessments, including WIDA screening and ACCESS testing. Maintain accurate records of EL student status and services in Infinite Campus and other systems. Ensure alignment of EL supports with schoolwide MTSS frameworks. Assist with the implementation of the EL program in alignment with Title III, AB 195, Nevada Department of Education, and SPCSA requirements. Collaboration & Student Support Systems Collaborate with Principals, Assistant Principals, Academic Coordinator, and Student Services staff to support EL students. Work with counselors, social workers, and intervention teams to address barriers impacting student success. Support EL students who may also qualify for SPED or 504 services by coordinating with appropriate staff (without assuming compliance responsibility). Family Communication & Support Communicate with families, ensure required parent notifications and documentation are completed and securely maintained. Provide guidance and resources to families of English Learners. Support translation or communication needs, as applicable. Professional Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA. Stay current on best practices in EL instruction, language acquisition, and intervention strategies. Participate in professional development related to EL instruction, classroom and student support. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, corporation policy, and administrative regulations. Follow all school-related procedures and policies. Attendance and participation at student/parent meetings and graduation is required. Perform other duties as assigned by administration. Position Expectations Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting English Learners in academic settings Understanding of language acquisition and scaffolding techniques Ability to analyze student data and monitor progress Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to support diverse learners, including at-risk students Ability to work effectively in a blended learning environment Strong organizational and time management skills Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL, or related field Has obtained or is eligible for a Nevada High School Teacher License Experience working with English Learners or diverse student populations Experience in instructional support, intervention, or tutoring Preferred Qualifications ESL/ELL endorsement or certification Experience in alternative education or working with at-risk students Experience inMTSS/RTI

Ability to operate, activate, and use a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
