0 FTE, Probationary O'Rourke Middle School The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a qualified and student-centered School Counselor to join the team at O'Rourke Middle School. This is a full-time, probationary position beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the academic, social-emotional, and career development needs of middle school students. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling services to students. Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and personal development. Support students' social-emotional well-being and help address barriers to learning. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success. Participate in student support teams, Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, and other school-based initiatives as appropriate. Maintain accurate student records and documentation. Implement and support the district's comprehensive school counseling program in accordance with New York State regulations. Minimum Qualifications Valid New York State School Counselor certification required. Knowledge of adolescent development and middle school counseling practices. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and staff.
