COMMUNITY LIAISON / AIDE
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
  • Salary and work year to be established by the Board
REPORTS TO
  • Building Principal / District Title I Director
EVALUATION
  • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Connecting, linking and engaging families to school and community supports and services
  • Encourage and facilitate family involvement in children's academic success efforts
  • Offer support and mentoring to families and students
  • Serve as liaison between the schools, service providers and the families
  • Recruit parents for leadership opportunities in the school setting
  • Participate as non-professional supports for mental health support groups, parent training, opportunities, and summer programs offered by Plain Local Schools
  • Preferably, acting as a community resource by living in their school's neighborhoods
  • Educating and informing students and families
  • Gathering information from students and families for use by a Care Team
  • Aiding families in reducing barriers through creative problem solving
  • Advocating on behalf of and with families in the school and community environment
  • Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as directed
