Job Description
Menlo Park Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate School Guidance Counselor to join our team and assist with providing comprehensive social emotional services for gifted children. The counseling program's purpose is to implement a high quality counseling program consisting of classroom lessons, small group counseling and individual counseling sessions. The team includes coordination and collaboration with other team members to help develop and implement services for specific students. Other duties could include but not be limited to coordinating and implementing Mindfulness and executive functioning programs, working with individual and groups of children with common needs, teaching peer mediation and anti-bullying strategies, organizing high school events, and developing college and career strategies. The school provides financial support for teachers to earn gifted licensure. The first gifted course is expected to be obtained within 3 years of employment at MPA.
