Seeking a dedicated and faith-driven School Counselor to provide individual counseling sessions to help students cope with academic, personal, social, or family concerns.

Principal Education:

Master's degree in Psychology, School Counseling or a related field

Skills/Qualifications:

Has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Integrity, credibility, and a commitment to CHCS's mission Strong understanding of instructional strategies and student engagement techniques. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to integrate faith into academic support.

Preferred Qualities:

Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork with staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Responding to the daily issues that arise within a school, including crisis response if necessary. Planning "Boy Talk"; planning and/or leading "Girl Talk" (Discipleship-focused small group time), 4th - 6th grade Preparing and presenting classroom guidance lessons as needed Safe Touch Talks, grades PS - 2nd grade Can include topics such as kindness, making and keeping friends, making wise choices, and study skills, as requested by classroom teachers. Consulting with school administration to identify and resolve student issues, needs, and problems. Consulting with teachers to provide strategies to help students who are struggling academically, behaviorally, and emotionally, and giving support to the teacher. Working with parents to help foster communication between home and school. Writing and overseeing behavior meditation plans - including collaborating with teachers and families to create the plan, follow up with the student, and reassessment. Planning and presenting the Bullying Chapel. The above statements are intended to describe the general requirements of the position.
