Aug 1, 2026 Job Description The Lorain County Joint Vocational School is accepting applications for the position of: School Counselor (High School 9-12) Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Master's Degree in School Counseling Ohio School Counselor License Responsive to diverse student needs, backgrounds, interests and abilities Familiarity with tiered intervention strategies Experience guiding students through post-secondary planning for college and careers Effective student/parent/community communication skills Effective communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience in various conflict resolution strategies Knowledge and ability to work with students regarding substance abuse Experience in individual and small-group counseling Individual/family/school crisis intervention training

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
