Job Goal:
Provides a comprehensive guidance program for students in grades 9-12 to provide support to students, teachers, and parents to meet the academic and social needs of the students.
Employment Terms:
10 Month Contract 7 Hour 20 Minute day, Exclusive of a (30) Minute Duty-free Lunch

Regular Requirements:
Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements:
Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds
Visual Requirements:
Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with teachers to develop curriculum and present psychoeducation on pertinent topics. Provides individual and group student guidance sessions as requested. Makes appropriate referrals to community resources. Counsel groups or individual students through the development of educational and career plans, including scholarship opportunities. Maintains accurate and confidential files and records regarding services provided. Works closely with administrators and resource officer dealing with high risk suicidal students. Maintains updated graduation checks for onsite and offsite students. Responsible for scheduling alphabetical groups of students assigned. Consults with special services personnel regarding appropriate testing and interventions for special education students. Regularly participate in appropriate professional development opportunities. Utilizes professional behavior in all school related transactions. Complies with all Federal, State and local laws and board policies and procedures. Counsels small groups and individual students with problems; refers severe problems to appropriate community resources. Coordinates state mandated testing program in conjunction with principal and assists with assessment responsibilities. Conducts orientation meetings, College Night, Honors Night Programs, evening parent/school meetings and other parent/school information meetings. Responds to crisis situations when appropriate. Meets site and district staff development requirements. Manages 504 caseloads for mental issues. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
