Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and student-focused College Counselor who specialized in advising undergraduate students considering transferring to another college or university. This role involves guiding students through every stage of the transfer process - from evaluating options to crafting compelling applications - while providing personalized, ethical and strategic support. Provide one-on-one advising to college students exploring transfer opportunities Help students assess academic and personal reasons for transferring Develop customized transfer strategies and school listed based on student goals. Guide students in preparing strong transfer applications, including essays and personal statements Advice on course selection, credit transfer, and academic positioning. Assist with resume building, extracurricular planning and recommendation strategies Keep up to date with transfer admission trends, policies and deadlines Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates, address concerns and align on student goals. Recruit and onboard new students through outreach, referrals and informational consultations. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English Based in New York City Bachelor's degree required Minimum 2-3 years of experience with transfer admissions Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish rapport with students and parents Responsible and responsive Great team player Flexible work schedule Must be available to accommodate students' schedules Knowledge of education administration practices related to university admissions and academic advising Ability to analyze student data for personalized counseling strategies Proven experience in recruiting or working directly with prospective university students
