No Pay Information $46,000 Pay Schedule Annually FLSA Designation Exempt Position Summary Assist program participants with personal issues and counseling. Enhance the academic development of program participants by providing individual and group instruction and mentoring. Conduct small group and individual instructional sessions to help program participants' master skills necessary to successfully complete university course requirements. Conduct needs assessments as appropriate. Provide academic and course advising. Assist program participants in preparation for placement exams. Consult with faculty and program staff regarding progress of participants. Maintain a database appropriate for collecting and analyzing student data for staff, departmental, institutional and federal reporting. Serve on assigned university committees and other related projects as appointed by the Director.
NOTE :
This is a 10-month position that does not report to work during the summer months of June/July.

Student Advisement/Academic Counseling
  • Meet with students for academic advising, consultation, conducting individual and group instructional sessions to prepare students for participation in course work. Assists students with any obstacles that interfere with progress towards graduation. Student Workshops
  • Provide required and/or necessary workshops to meet the needs of our students. Responsible for approximately 12 workshops each year. Also responsible for planning our Annual Honors Luncheon that averages about 200 attendees. Scholarship Search
  • Works with students to research and apply for grants and scholarships. Student Goal Setting
  • Meets with a caseload of approximately 60 students to set goals and develop strategies for successful goal completion. Graduate School
  • Organize and develop resources and contacts that will facilitate admission to graduate school.

Maintain efficient record-keeping system that facilitates planning for instruction, assessments, tutoring and program evaluation. Organize files and data according to federal guidelines. Prepare data to be merged into a federal report. Organize materials and research in order to provide input for program improvement. Percentage Of Time 10
