Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Founders Academy is seeking a one-year only, part-time mentor to implement the evidence-based Check & Connect student engagement framework. This important role involves working individually with a small caseload of middle school student artists who show warning signs of school disengagement (such as attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns). The mentor will focus on relationship-building, systematic monitoring, and customized problem-solving to help students feel supported and stay connected to their education. Successful candidates should have passion and specific experience working with, motivating, and inspiring pre-adolescent children. Compensation is grant-funded at $225/day, one school day per week (no more than 36 days during the school year). Founders Academy is located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and serves 168 student artists from across the state. We are looking for educators with: strong, standards-based lesson planning and development skills; student-centered approach; and commitment to being a participating team member.
