Job Description

Under the direction of the superintendent and the midlands regional principal, the guidance counselor functions as a school counselor at five schools in the midland's region. Acts as a primary liaison for Palmetto Unified School District (PUSD) to provide academic and career readiness counseling and direction of the educational process to individuals. Promote positive social-emotional-behavioral supports to individuals. Provide essential life skills and real-life experiences to prepare individuals for successful reentry into their communities. Administer standardized assessments, to include, but not limited to, the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) assessments, High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) assessments, WIN, NorthStar digital literacy, and other career readiness-related assessments. Maintain accurate data and reports. Satisfy all mandatory training requirements of (PUSD/SCDC) perform all other educational and related duties as assigned. Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire. SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A valid South Carolina teaching credential in guidance counseling.
