Job Description

Campbell County Board of Education is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students' academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social-emotional well-being while fostering a positive school culture. Position Summary The High School Counselor provides a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development needs of students. The counselor collaborates with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners to help students achieve success and prepare for postsecondary opportunities. Qualifications Valid Tennessee School Counselor License or eligibility for Tennessee licensure. Master's degree in School Counseling or related field. Knowledge of academic planning, college and career readiness, student support services, and state graduation requirements. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and career development. Assist students with academic planning, course selection, and graduation requirements. Support college and career readiness initiatives, including postsecondary planning, financial aid awareness, and scholarship opportunities. Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to identify and support students who may be at risk academically or behaviorally. Coordinate and interpret student assessment data as needed. Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, families, and outside agencies to address student needs. Assist with crisis intervention and response efforts when necessary. Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Participate in school improvement efforts and support a positive learning environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or Director of Schools.
