Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students and schools as a contract SPED Counselor near Burleson, TX. This full-time, onsite position runs from August through December, providing essential services to K-12 students while supporting campuses during maternity leaves. With a dynamic caseload of 75-85 students and a focus on behavior threat assessments, this role is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference in education and student wellbeing.
Desired Background & Required Credentials:
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field Valid Texas School Counselor Certificate issued by SBEC, with one of the following licenses: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Psychologist (LP) Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) Experience serving as a counselor within a school environment preferred Demonstrated ability to support students with special education needs Strong collaboration, organizational, and communication skills
Responsibilities You'll Take On:
Provide individual and group counseling for K-12 students, addressing academic, behavioral, and emotional needs Conduct behavior threat assessments and collaborate with administration regarding student safety Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviors and resilience Maintain required records, documentation, and confidential student information Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and families, supporting students' academic and personal growth Enjoy the meaningful impact that comes with helping students succeed during a crucial semester.
