POSITION SUMMARY
The Counselor will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program through the Stronger Connections Grant to ensure fidelity of implementation and direct impact on students. The Counselor will support students' academic, career, personal, and social development while addressing the needs of special populations. Responsibilities include delivering guidance curriculum, supporting students through challenging situations, and connecting students and families with appropriate resources. Qualifications
Education/Certification:
  • Master's degree in Counseling from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas School Counselor Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to instruct students and manage behavior effectively
  • Ability to present information to students, parents, and staff in individual and group settings
  • Ability to coordinate with community and external partners
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to advocating for all children with compassion and professionalism
Experience:
  • Three to five years of experience working with students as a teacher or counselor

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • May require prolonged or irregular hours
