The K-3 Counselor & SEL Instructor provides direct short-term counseling services to students in Kindergarten through Third Grade, individually and in small groups, and collaborates closely with faculty, parents, and administrators to address student social-emotional wellness needs effectively. In collaboration with the director of student support, they are an integral member of crisis response when students or the community face critical situations. Additionally, this faculty member teaches weekly SEL classes in Kindergarten through Third Grade using the Langley School's unique custom curriculum, REACH. Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. A background in teaching lessons and facilitating conversations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as human development is desired. Candidates must have experience working with children in educational or counseling settings. A candidate with a counseling certification or license and experience working in an elementary school is preferred. In addition, excellent written and verbal communication skills, skill and interest in collaborating with colleagues, and a passion for working with children are required.
