Job Description

Counselor Job Description :
The School District of Arcadia, a family-centered district enriched by a thriving cultural diversity, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time High School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in a beautiful rural setting, Arcadia provides students and staff with unique opportunities to engage in internationally enriched educational experiences while fostering a supportive and connected school community. Guided by our belief that every child will succeed, we are committed to creating an environment where all students are supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Counselor Qualifications/Requirements:
The successful candidate will provide the services and activities necessary for students in Grades 9-12 to become productive members of our rapidly changing society. Counseling in the social, emotional, behavioral, academic, and career areas will be provided to all students in the school district. This growth and learning is achieved through individual, group, or classroom meetings. An understanding of the role of the teachers, administrators, parents, and community members is seen as a vital link in assisting the School Counseling Department with its goals and is a built-in part of the delivery system.
Counselor Other Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must have or be eligible for a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling Applicants must have or be eligible for a WI DPI License 7054 - School Counselor. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality within and outside the school and work collegially with all staff members and the general public. Demonstrate the ability to use appropriate technology to process, store, and retrieve data required for the position and use for the education of students. Ability to problem solve and work collegially with co-workers, students, the general public, all staff members and supervisors and independently when appropriate. An understanding of the student scheduling process and use of student management systems to assist in that process. An understanding of culturally-responsive practices would be an asset Knowledge of Spanish is beneficial but is not required.
