D2011000 POSITION DUTIES
This position is loced in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO), Plans and Actions Branch. The purpose of the position is to provide a full range of general educion and career development counseling and assistance to DoD civilians, military personnel and dependents of the command and tached organizions.
MAJOR DUTIES
(1) Interviews and counsels military personnel to help them develop and achieve a valid educion goal and subsequent occupion. Provides individualized interviewing and counseling to aid the individual in career decision making. Focuses on Soldiers without high school diplomas and Officers without Baccalauree degrees to assist them in taining their educional requirements. Ghers informion about individuals during the initial counseling session and recommends testing such as achievement, interest, and aptitude tests. (2) Deleges and/or performs a variety of administrive and customer support functions relive to the Educion Services Programs (i.e. Informion Management and Reporting Center (iMARC), nionalguardbenefits.com) in a Ste. Administers tests, assures th tests are conducted in accordance with standard procedures prescribed in the applicable regulions, and maintains records of results achieved. Consolides, reviews, and requests da from iMARC and other dabases. Records individual educion levels against goals and documents efforts made to increase those levels. Prepares reports of program achievements. (3) May serve as test control officer for all civilian high school and college tests. Receives, prepares, and dissemines program guidance for examinions. Prepares required quarterly reports and audits regarding test merial. Administers DANTES sponsored tests and Army Personnel Testing (APT) (i.e. Flight Test, ASVAB, etc.). (4) Deleges and/or maintains files and libraries of current educional merial, including calogs of colleges and universities, military and government sponsored educion programs, occupional books, periodicals, manuals, and other vocional merials concerning opportunities and requirements for specific vocions/occupions. (5) Deleges and/or schedules on-site classes, off-site classes, and sellite testing sites for individuals to tain their educional goals. Provides assistance to personnel applying for scholarships, educional allowances, and grants. Reviews and promotes educional benefits established and funded by the Ste or Federal Government. (6) Monitors individual Soldier educional progress and conducts follow-ups to ensure th individuals are meeting their goals. Modifies action plans for individuals who are not meeting requirements. Engages in outreach programs to motive Soldiers to pursue educional and/or career goals. Receives, evalues and certifies transcripts. (7) Prepares and/or conducts educional briefings. Promotes self-development programs including correspondence courses, tendance classes a local armory or educion center, and tendance schools, colleges, and universities. Provides updes to Ste web site. (8) Conducts surveys of educional needs and preferences. Arranges for the testing of individuals and analyzes results. Coordines with unit level staff to identify educional needs. (9) Serves as alterne administror of the educion program. (10) Performs other duties as assigned.
