The Assistant Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides district-level leadership and operational support for Career and Technical Education programs across Onslow County Public Schools. This role assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of CTE programs to ensure alignment with district priorities, state standards, workforce demands, and federal accountability requirements. The Assistant Director supports compliance with Perkins V, fiscal and programmatic integrity, instructional quality, workforce development partnerships, and continuous improvement efforts that promote college, career, and military readiness for all students.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Master's, Educational Specialist, Doctorate degree, or current principal or school administrator license; 
NCDPI CTE
Administrator License (711) or eligibility preferred Minimum of five (5) years of teaching, supervisory, or administrative experience Experience in Career and Technical Education programs preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the CTE Local Application and Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA). Support data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting for state and federal accountability measures, including Perkins V performance indicators. Use performance data to identify trends, support continuous improvement, and inform instructional and programmatic decision-making. Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Eastern North Carolina Regionals Skills Center. Assist in preparing reports and documentation for district leadership, NCDPI, and federal agencies. Support the development and oversight of local, state, and federal CTE budgets in accordance with district and state fiscal policies. Monitor expenditures to ensure appropriate, allowable, and timely use of funds. Assist with procurement, inventory management, and maintenance of CTE equipment, tools, and instructional resources. Support compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and audit requirements. Support principals and teachers in the implementation of high-quality, standards-aligned CTE instruction. Assist with planning and delivery of professional development for CTE teachers, including induction, mentoring, and instructional coaching. Promote Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and work-based learning experiences as integral components of instruction. Support industry credentialing, certifications, and articulation agreements that enhance postsecondary and workforce transitions. Assist in developing and maintaining partnerships with business, industry, postsecondary institutions, workforce development agencies, and community organizations. Support advisory committees and stakeholder engagement efforts that strengthen program relevance and alignment to labor market needs. Represent the district at meetings, conferences, and events as assigned. Assist with recruitment, hiring, placement, and retention of CTE teachers and staff. Serve as a liaison with Human Resources and NCDPI Licensure regarding staffing and licensure requirements. Support evaluation, coaching, and professional growth of CTE personnel as assigned. Assist with allocation of staffing resources based on program needs and fiscal guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds routinely and 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to visually, auditorily, and physically monitor student performance and conduct. Must be able to drive to a variety of school sites. Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.
