Hourly Rate $35.71875/per hour (From Fall, 2025) Not Eligible for Benefits This is a part-time, temporary position not eligible for benefits. Work Schedule Opportunities exist for daytime and late afternoon/early evening shifts (Monday-Friday), ranging from 5-25 hours weekly. Job Summary Starting from Fall, 2023 Chandler-Gilbert Community College is a suburban public institution dedicated to creating and fostering educational opportunities for our local communities. With two campuses, at Pecos and Williams, we offer a range of associate degree and certificate options for students seeking job advancement, new careers, university transfer-oriented programs, and lifelong learning experiences. With a large number of students who are juggling school, work, and family responsibilities, our CGCC Counseling office seeks to support an campus environment and serves currently enrolled students to help them navigate challenges that impact their ability to be successful inside and outside the classroom. Chandler-Gilbert Community College has part-time opportunities within the Counseling program at both our Pecos and Williams campuses. Adjunct counseling service faculty provide counseling support to currently enrolled students to help them with academic skill building, career counseling, personal support, and goal setting in the service of improving student success. Crisis response and assistance with community referrals is also a focus of this work. There may be some opportunity for engagement with campus outreach events (e.g., suicide prevention training). Additional Information The opening of this position may or may not be currently available. Whenever a position becomes available, the hiring committee will review applications received for this position. Your application for this position will be kept current for a period of two years. Essential Functions Provides counseling support to currently enrolled students to help them with academic skill building, career counseling, personal support, and goal setting in the service of improving student success Provides crisis response and assistance with community referrals Provides consultation support to faculty, staff, or students that may be concerned for/about another student Minimum Qualifications 1. Master's degree or higher with an emphasis in counseling from a regionally accredited college or university and have completed at least twenty-four (24) semesters or thirty-six (36) quarter hours of graduate work including the following: Counseling Theories and Techniques Personality Theories or Human Development Testing Theories and Applications Group Counseling Theories and Techniques Career Counseling Theories and Resources Individual Assessment (a course on individual/group assessment/evaluation, psychopathology, and theories/approaches in the study of the individual) Practicum, Supervised Practice, or Internship in counseling Must have completed either a Practicum, Supervised Practice, or an Internship in counseling (Applicants for counseling positions are strongly encouraged to include course descriptions from the university's catalog for the aforementioned seven courses). A counselor may be hired if he/she has completed coursework in at least five (5) of the first six (6) above areas and has the required twenty-four (24) semester or 36 quarter hours of graduate work. If the counselor is deficient in an area 1 through 6, the deficiency shall be removed within one year of the date of hire. Area seven (7) must be completed before the date of hire. 2. EDU250 - Teaching and Learning in the Community College- or equivalent must be completed within two years of date of hire. Desired Qualifications Demonstrated experience and commitment to counseling individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities, multicultural trauma focused work and first-generation students Demonstrated experience delivering educational or support programming/workshops Prior counseling experience working with a student population in a community college or university counseling center Professional practice with common career guidance theories, assessments, and interventions Training, experience, or certification in crisis intervention skills Familiarity with local community resources How to Apply Applicants are required to submit unofficial transcripts, resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a cover letter showing how the applicant meets the minimum and desired qualifications.
