REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential with a specialization in School Counseling, issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), is required. Master's degree in School Counseling, Career Counseling, or a related field. Experience in CTE (Career Technical Education), and online career readiness software preferred

AREAS OF FOCUS FOR THIS SCHOOL COUNSELOR POSITION
Pathway Management:
Guide students through multi-year course pathways in high-demand industry fields, including the recruitment, retention, and targeted support of special populations.
Work-Based Learning:
Facilitate hands-on opportunities, including pre-apprenticeships, internships, and job shadowing, to connect students with local industry partners.
Post-Secondary Transitions:
Guide students towards earning college credits through articulated credits by exam and dual enrollment programs. Support students in gaining knowledge of trade schools, community college programs, and degree paths that build on their technical foundation.
Skill Development:
Lead career workshops on resume building, interview techniques, and other employment skills tailored to first job experiences.
Event Coordination:
Planning and organizing career workshops, career fairs, career-related guest speakers, and work-based learning programs.
Career Exploration & Planning:
Implement career development curriculum and guide students through career assessments to identify interests and strengths.
Dual Enrollment Coordination:
Coordinates the high school's dual enrollment program by managing partnerships with postsecondary institutions, supporting student enrollment and compliance and collaborating with counselors, professors and parents. Comments and Other Information
