Full-time Job Summary Employment Specialist:
This position is responsible for providing services to clients participating in the Career Track. This includes evaluating clients' abilities, interests and skills related to employment, assessing clients' need for vocational rehabilitation, basic work skills training and job training, working with clients to develop Individual Employment Plans, and referring clients to services and recommending appropriate employment consistent with clients' desires, aptitudes and physical, mental and environmental limitations. Maintains timely and accurate documentation of service delivery and client progress.
Essential Functions:
Compile and assess information about clients' skills, abilities, interests, employment history, education and personal history. Ascertains qualifications of clients and compares with requirements of desired positions and determines the need for assistance such as rehabilitation, basic work skills training and vocational training. Refers clients to the appropriate services In partnership with the client, develops Individualized Employment Plans (IEP) that address employment barriers. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with policy and procedure. Works with clients' to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioral barriers affecting their career. This includes providing guidance regarding dressing and grooming for interviews and/or employment addressing personal hygiene issues as needed. Provides support in the development and writing of resumes consistent with the current job market. Helps clients develop and practice interviewing skills including providing feedback and role playing via mock one on one. Performs labor market surveys to identify employment trends and opportunities that are within the skills and interests of potential clients. Attends all required meetings and training's. Report suspected child abuse and neglect to Child Protective Services (CPS) and elder abuse to the Elder Abuse Hotline. Serve as Tutor for MVK children as required by program needs. Provide short term case management for clients, including crisis intervention and scheduled meetings. Initiate appropriate referrals if needed, if referral has not already been made. Encourage and monitor client attendance at suggested appointments and classes. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client demographic and service data and all client contacts including meetings, telephone calls, collateral contacts, and internal referrals. Enter client data in HMIS in compliance with program and Funding Grant requirements. Become familiar with Housing First Model. Ensure that suspected child, adult and senior abuse and neglect are reported following established agency policy for non-emergency and emergency reporting procedures, and that the appropriate regulatory agencies are notified such as Child and Adult Protective Services. Maintain up to date client information. Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

License/Certification:
Driver's License (Preferred)
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft office programs. Thorough understanding of the organization's Vision, Mission and CREED. Highly developed interpersonal skills and highly effective in working objectively with a diverse group of people. Team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision. Ability to make decisions based on education preparation and experience, which reflect consistency with organization philosophy, policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with high level of activity and competing demands for attention. Must be able to work in a shared work space.
