PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Provides supervision, support and on the job training to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming productive employees and reaching their goals. Provides custodial and grounds maintenance services to the Shasta County contracts by keeping a neat, clean, and well-groomed facility for the Government Employees, performing all contract requirements. 2.
PRIMARY SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 12:00am with a 30-minute on duty paid lunch. Hours and days may vary and may include day, swing, Holiday and weekend shifts, and over-time shifts as needed. 3.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of the Shasta County Program Manager. 4.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Responsible for providing training and supervision of individuals with disabilities. 5.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School education or equivalent. Current California driver's license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability. Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check. Ability to pass CPR and First Aid courses. Ability to call, text and/or e-mail. Ability to be certified in Behavior Tools. Ability to train new employees. 6 DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows safety procedures, policies, and guidelines of NVS. Motivates and assists clients in establishing professional work ethics, social skills, and appropriate apparel for work. Multitasks and prioritizes to meet deadlines. Participates in continuous staff development and training. Works with minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment. Completes progress reports and billing paperwork. Participates in client assessment meetings and vocational planning development. Demonstrates and maintains a positive and professional attitude and demeanor. Public safety and convenience are to be always considered. Ensures that employer expectations and quality standards are met. Reports all incidents of vandalism, theft, and accidents to the Program Manager. Keeps breakrooms and vehicles clean, neat, and secure. Cleans rest rooms and adds supplies, as necessary. Assists and trains clients in vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors. Dusting and cleaning windows, emptying garbage. Occasionally operates stripper and buffer. Removes all trash, paper, and other debris from grounds and parking lots. Keeps all walkways and necessary pathways clean and free of debris, snow, and ice. Uses hand and power tools and performs required maintenance. Reports any necessary repairs. Drives NVS vehicles as needed. Additional duties as assigned including filling in at other sites or departments as needed. 7.
PHYSICAL DUTIES
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, (bending, pushing, lifting, and stooping). Ability to tolerate all weather conditions (heat, cold) when working outdoors. Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time. Ability to reach overhead. Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
