Sacramento, CA Job Details Part-time $19.50 - $21.00 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Driver's License Productivity software Full Job Description Position Summary The Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor provides one-on-one, skills-based instruction to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to support increased independence in daily living and community integration. Services are delivered in client homes and community settings in accordance with authorized ILS and individualized, person-centered goals. The ILS Instructor promotes client choice, autonomy, and dignity while ensuring safety and compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Key Responsibilities Deliver structured, one-on-one instruction in ILS domains, including personal hygiene routines, household management, meal planning, budgeting, and community integration, with a focus on skill acquisition and increased independence Implement individualized, person-centered goals as authorized, ensuring instruction aligns with each client's needs, preferences, and assessed abilities Apply Active Supports and evidence-based teaching strategies (e.g., task analysis, prompting, and fading techniques) to promote engagement, participation, and skill development Support the generalization of learned skills across environments by facilitating practice in home and community settings Monitor and document client progress toward goals in a clear, objective, and timely manner in accordance with agency and funding requirements Identify and communicate changes in client condition, performance, or circumstances that may impact service delivery or goal progression Transport and accompany clients in the community, as appropriate, to support instruction and skill development Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of services and alignment with client goals Maintain professional boundaries and deliver services in a respectful, client-centered manner that reinforces independence and informed choice Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies, including confidentiality requirements, mandated reporting obligations, and health and safety protocols Other duties as assigned Benefits Aflac Sick Time Mandatory Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong organizational, documentation, and administrative skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in community-based settings Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn electronic documentation systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and implement authorized service plans Valid California Driver's License Reliable personal vehicle with current registration and automobile insurance meeting minimum state requirements Acceptable driving record per agency standards Ability to travel regularly between client locations and within the community Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent walking, driving, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire Preferred Qualifications Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities Experience in ILS, Supported Living Services, or similar programs Familiarity with person-centered planning and Active Supports principles
