Description:
United Services has an exciting opportunity for a Peer Recovery Specialist for the CRS Program. The right candidate will be part of a collaborative team, coordinating care with providers and case managers to meet individuals where they are and enhance their recovery and wellness. The Peer Recovery Specialist will bring the peer perspective and experience to support and inspire others to achieve person-driven and self-defined achievable goals. Critical functions of the job include assisting in follow-up with medical care, promoting involvement with wellness and health promotion activities, including self-help, and modeling successful recovery strategies. Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients in own car is a must. Mileage reimbursement is provided.Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend coverage may be required.Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/equivalent plus two years of relevant experience required.Certification:
Recovery Support Specialist or Recovery Coach from a DMHAS Approved Training Organization We accept certifications through Advocacy Unlimited (AU) Hartford Healthcare-Recovery Leadership Academy (HHC-RLA) or Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR)- Must be able to obtain Peer Support and Recovery Specialist Certification within one year of employment.
Salary/Hourly Range:
$17.27- $19.54 per hour (depending on experience) Bilingual (Spanish/English) rate of pay: $18.14
