Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Coordination:
Plan, design, coordinate, and facilitate Fresh Start activities that support student entry into Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Develop structured programming, workshops, and orientations that promote student readiness, engagement, and successful transition into CTE pathways.
Recruitment, Outreach, and Representation:
Serve as the primary recruitment and outreach liaison, delivering presentations to individuals and groups both on campus and in the community. Act as a key representative of the Falcon HOPE Center at events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and serve as a primary point of contact during these times. Engage with various community organizations-including churches, synagogues, chapels, and community centers-to increase awareness of educational services. Travel regularly to all Daytona State College campuses across Volusia and Flagler Counties to support outreach and recruitment efforts.
Data Collection and Reporting:
Gather, track, and maintain accurate data related to CTE student transitions, program participation, and outreach activities. Prepare periodic, annual, and special reports that document program effectiveness, student outcomes, and engagement efforts to support continuous improvement and compliance.
Student Support:
Collaborate with campus personnel to support student management, address concerns, and ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment for students entering and progressing through CTE programs.
Professional Engagement and Development:
Attend and/or lead meetings and professional sessions to share information, coordinate services, and improve program delivery. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay current with best practices and enhance professional skills.
Records and Administrative Management:
Maintain comprehensive record-keeping systems related to CTE transitions and program activities. Process daily administrative functions, including reports, memos, requisitions, and handling sensitive personal information, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional standards.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of Career and Technical Education programs, student services, and community outreach Strong organizational, coordination, and program facilitation skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and manage administrative tasks accurately Ability to work flexible hours, travel between campuses, and represent the Center professionally Ability to support students and collaborate with staff and community partners Ability to work various shifts and locations based on the needs of the College. Ability to work additional hours, weekends, evenings and/or holidays as needed and/or required. August and January are vacation block-out months.
