This role includes career planning, support services, and job readiness assistance. The specialist also handles employer and job seeker inquiries and provides both individual and group services to support participants in achieving sustainable employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver one-on-one career coaching, navigation, and stabilization services tailored to participant needs. Conduct assessments to identify employment goals, training needs, skills, and barriers; develop individualized service plans. Provide accurate information about career pathways, credentials, and industry opportunities. Facilitate workshops and group sessions on job readiness, resume writing, and interview skills. Offer referrals to training, education, and wraparound support services such as counseling, healthcare, or financial aid. Maintain up-to-date and accurate case notes in accordance with funder and agency guidelines. Track participant progress and provide ongoing motivation, problem-solving, and follow-up. Respond promptly to inquiries from job seekers, employers, and community partners via phone and email. Collaborate with peers to ensure continuity of care and timely service delivery. Enter participant information in agency systems while adhering to confidentiality standards. Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and CARF accreditation standards. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of career counseling, workforce development, and labor market trends. Effective communication skills, both oral and written; bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Experience working with diverse populations, including those with barriers to employment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software. Ability to build relationships with participants, employers, and community organizations. Must maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and practice ethical behavior. Flexibility in schedule and willingness to attend required meetings or events. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required; experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Vice President of Mission Services. Minimum 2 years of experience in career coaching, workforce development, or case management, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Familiarity with career assessments and exploration tools. Experience in human services, HR, or job development is a plus.Competencies Problem Solving:
