Job Summary:
Leads and oversees the Career Transition Phase of the CDSS program, helping students successfully transition into full-time employment, college, advanced training, or Military service. Focuses on achieving quality placements aligned with career goals, competitive wages, and long-term student success.
Schedule :
Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm
Flex Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists students in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by acting as a positive role model and mentor. Conducts formal performance evaluations for staff in timely manner and provides regular and ongoing performance feedback. Ensures that Career Transition Services area has adequate supplies and equipment and remains within budget. Coordinates job development and relocation activities, promotes linkages and creates job leads and Job Placements for students. Evaluates and seeks trends in relation to Labor Market Information and provides feedback to CTT instructors and Center Management. Coordinates Job Fairs, Career Days and Military Days. May attend WIA Local Board meetings. Visits agencies, businesses and other job-related partners. Provides informational presentations to external partners, schools, colleges, and business to promote student placements. Establishes individual placement goals for CTS monthly and annually, requests approved incentives for staff who achieve or surpass goals; provides training and technical assistance and holds CTS staff accountable who do not achieve goals. Attends seminars and conferences to keep abreast of changes and trends, as well as required staff training. Trains and cross-trains staff. Keeps staff informed of program issues and policy changes, etc.
Requirements Minimum:
Associates degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field. Three years' work-related experience, one of which involved direct managerial/supervisory responsibilities.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and two years related supervisory experience or Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and four years related supervisory experience.
Knowledge:
Must be able to effectively relate to culturally diverse and disadvantaged youth. Excellent communication skill, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Good analytical skills. Sound management techniques. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certificate. PM22
