Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is seeking applicants for the position of Reemployment Case Management (RCM) Career Planner in our Iowa WORKS office in Waterloo, IA .

Hybrid telework and alternate schedules available after six months of employment Position Overview The RCM Career Planner provides comprehensive reemployment and unemployment insurance support services to job seekers and unemployment participants. This role assists customers with career planning, work search requirements, UI claims, job referrals, and workforce resources while ensuring compliance with Iowa unemployment laws and program guidelines. The RCM Career Planner also supports customers in developing employment skills, accessing training opportunities, and achieving successful long-term employment outcomes. Career Planner responsibilities but not limited to : As a RCM Career Planner, you will deliver all required Reemployment Services program components to unemployment participants during scheduled appointments.Responsibilities include:
Reviewing unemployment insurance (UI) claim statuses Identify claim issues Refer concerns to the appropriate staff while ensuring claimants receive all necessary information You will verify that work search requirements are being met and properly documented, as well as explain, promote, and register claimants for One-Stop Center workshops. In this role, the RCM Career Planner will conduct electronic file searches, compare applicants' qualifications to employer job order requirements, and refer qualified candidates to available positions. You will assist customers in completing valid work registrations within the database system and collaborate with them to create or update Individual Service Plans. All services, appointments, and other relevant customer information must be accurately documented in the database system. The RCM Career Planner is also responsible for performing essential UI-related activities. Follow unemployment administration rules and Iowa law when assisting customers with filing UI claims Address questions or concerns Ensure timely submission of proper documentation and notices to support positive outcomes Maintain and organize all documentation related to UI decisions Ensure claims remain active and up to date Monitor claim statuses Additional responsibilities include reviewing previous UI claims and adjudications, using database systems to review salary histories, and cross-referencing systems to verify personal identification information. The Career Planner will adjudicate claim issues in accordance with UI laws, provide customers with information regarding the appeals process when necessary, and prepare for and participate in UI appeal hearings related to adjudication decisions. The RCM Career Planner will educate customers about services available through the Iowa WORKS location and assist them with employment-related questions, local employer opportunities, and workforce resources. You will support customers in using computers and online resources, including internet job searches, tutorials, labor market information, educational opportunities, career exploration tools, and resume development. You will also provide guidance on the use of self-service and assisted services available through the Workforce Center. RCM Career Planner's coach customers throughout all stages of the job search process, helping them strengthen personal and professional skills with the primary goal of achieving successful employment outcomes. Responsibilities may also include administering proficiency tests and skill assessments as needed. Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: 1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field. 2) Four years of full-time work experience in career services, teaching or training to improve skills, job coaching, providing human services to individuals in need, sales, customer service, call center operations, or human-resources-related services involving interviewing, reviewing job applications, conducting employment-related assessments, or job placement. 3) A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. 4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as a Workforce Associate.Similar jobs in Waterloo, IA
