If so, Lee Pesky Learning Center (LPLC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Academic Coach to join our team. LPLC, a leader in education nonprofits, is a comprehensive training, service, and research center with a rich history and a promising future. Located in Boise, Idaho with satellite offices in Sun Valley, LPLC was founded in 1997 by Alan and Wendy Pesky in honor of their son, Lee, who overcame significant learning challenges. Today, LPLC provides one-on-one intensive intervention to people facing obstacles to learning while also training teachers in the classroom and supporting students in schools and communities. We recognize that obstacles to learning can be multi-faceted, and we understand the power of prevention. As an Academic Coach, you will be responsible for providing explicit instruction in the core subjects of reading, writing and math. In-person and Online:
Deliver individualized coaching sessions in person or online that support executive functioning, self-regulation, organization, time management, goal setting, and effective study skills.
Develop Individualized Coaching Plans:
Establish student goals, create structured coaching plans, and tailor strategies to each learner's strengths, needs, and aspirations.
Monitor Progress and Growth:
Collect and maintain data on student progress, evaluate goal attainment, and adjust coaching approaches as needed to support success.
Build Strong Partnerships:
Maintain regular communication with students, parents, guardians, and other educational professionals to ensure alignment and support for student goals. Contribute to a
Collaborative Team:
Work closely with the Academic Services Director and other staff members to ensure high-quality services and consistent implementation of the LPLC coaching model. Minimum Qualifications Minimum one year of experience working with adolescents and young adults in educational, coaching, mentoring, or related settings. Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field preferred. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of executive functioning, self-regulation, and learning strategies. Experience supporting students with learning, attention, organizational, or motivational challenges.
