What you will be doing:
Responsible for coordinating, adapting and overseeing the evening learning activities instruction to students in accordance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions :
Recruit, screen, train, and supervise mentors, tutors, and speakers. Match mentor/tutor pairs and offer ongoing support. Coordinate peer and adult mentoring/tutoring activities to include group study. Teach needed courses based on changing student priorities. Organize project-based learning activities. Develop and maintain all necessary contacts and relationships for an active tutoring program to include supplemental academic instruction and homework assignments. Plan, implement, and oversee workshops and seminars. Coordinate evening studies activities which include academic and foundations assignments. Recognize program participants. Participate in Career Success Standard programs and activities. Track student performance and participation in evening studies activities. Provide evaluation and feedback as necessary. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree and one year experience with youth. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
