This position works directly with families, schools, and court systems to identify barriers to regular attendance and implement targeted interventions. The goal is to improve student engagement and attendance, enabling successful reintegration into full-time classroom participation. Major Responsibilities Implement program activities related to diagnostic, intervention, and remediation services for at-risk youth and students experiencing chronic absenteeism. Monitor attendance of students referred by schools and maintain detailed records of interventions and outcomes. Caseloads vary based on the specific monitoring tiers purchased and paid for by the contracting school district. Assist in the development of Individual Optional Education Plans (IOEP) in collaboration with the student, parent/guardian, school staff, and caseworkers. Evaluate students for participation in in-school and community-based support services, make appropriate referrals, and monitor ongoing involvement. For comprehensive program data tracking, maintain accurate and timely weekly case notes using the designated tracking software—submitted by Friday—including full documentation of attendance, family and student contact, meetings, outside service contact, and home visits. Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings and designated program activities. Participate in relevant community groups to stay informed and build connections that benefit students and families. Attend court dates related to students on your caseload as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director for Students Support Services.
Work Expectations:
Attendance Interventionists are expected to spend the majority of their time in schools and surrounding community areas to provide direct, meaningful support and to build relationships with students, staff, and families. Use of centralized office space will be minimal; this role is field-based and relationship-driven.
