Job Description
BUSINESS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
This full-time position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Central Illinois businesses and leveraging WIOA resources to address employer workforce needs. Candidates must have at least an Associate's Degree in business, public relations, communication, or secondary education, and/or three years of business sales experience. Sales experience is strongly preferred. A minimum of two years of meeting with public in a professional capacity required. Demonstrated ability to interact with the business community. Seeking a highly motivated and highly organized individual. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills are required. Must have reliable transportation. Position is exempt, reporting to the Executive DirectorPOSITION FUNCTIONS
- Acts as primary liaison with the business community and coordinates all available services with area partners and markets the workforce system.
- Coordinate and align Apprenticeship, OJTs, and incumbent worker opportunities with regional business partners, WIOA customers, and providers.
- Coordinate business services with WIOA partners
- Acquires high level of familiarity with the workforce system and available workforce resources within the LWIA of Fulton, Mason, McLean Tazewell, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford and Stark Counties.
- Provides leadership, collaboration, oversight, development and coordination of business services available.
- Provides presentations to business and community groups concerning the workforce system (including operators and partners) and means of accessing available resources.
- Provides outreach to business and community organizations and conducts focus groups and other forums to gain information from the community.
- Maintains open, direct and responsive communication to business community needed to promote and build investment in the work and accomplishments of the Workforce Innovation Board.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of Workforce Board activities, such as business meetings and LWIB meetings.
- Create and maintain database and a process for maintaining employer information. Assesses individual employer needs and identifies resources to address needs.
- Support partnerships that assist in coordination of regional activities and deployment of Workforce Board's Regional / Local plan.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures, functions and operations of LWIOA and community.
- Mastery of theoretical principles and pragmatic implementation of regulations.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the WIOA, Federal Regulations, State Regulations, and Department of Labor directions, and the ability to apply these to the goals and objectives of the LWIOA.
- Knowledge of WIOA eligibility and required eligibility of partner agencies.
- Working knowledge of partnering agencies rules, regulations and procedures.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Education:
Associates degree with a major in business, public relations, communication or secondary education. Business Marketing and/or Sales experience preferred.Experience:
