Job Description

Job Coach (Youth) Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. Our mission is to provide the best services in the most inclusive environments to encourage persons to fulfill their individual potential through evidence-based treatment, advocacy, and community education. There s no place like Hope. The Job Coach teaches students the social and vocational skills necessary to be employed in the community. The Job Coach works with students to ensure they develop vocational skills to their greatest potential.
Job Coach Essential Duties:
Provide vocational and social skill training to students participating in businesses in the community to develop the job skills necessary to become employed. Develop vocational profiles for assigned students that reflect strengths pertinent to job training on and off campus. Work with classroom staff to ensure understanding of all steps involved in teaching functional job skills and that appropriate vocational goals are developed and implemented for assigned students. Document student progress through specified notes and progress reports. Serve as a liaison between community employers regarding client/employer related issues including student attendance, community awareness, schedule changes, and student progress/issues. Arrange transportation for students and maintain inventory of vocational supplies as needed.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must be 21 years of age or older. High School diploma or G.E.D. Valid Illinois Paraprofessional certificate. Valid Illinois driver s license and meet all DCFS driving requirements. Able to meet Illinois School Bus Driver certification requirements to drive a 7-passenger van. Must attain within 9 months of accepting position. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to physically move within the school, homes, and through the campus and community. Able to sit, stand, walk, lift, push, pull, carry, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate s or Bachelor s degree in an education or human services related field 2+ years of vocational experience. Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
